Coyle, Lucy, 87, of Egg Harbor Township, formerly of Ocean City, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2018 surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 30, 1930, in Moorestown, NJ, daughter of Luigi and Mariangela (Giordano) DiLossi. She was one of fourteen children that her mother and father raised on a farm in Swedesboro.
Lucy married Robert Coyle on June 4, 1949, and lived in both Pedricktown and Ocean City. In addition to raising four children, Lucy was an accomplished seamstress and a wonderful cook. She was very active in her parish, the former St. Augustine's, and worked in a variety of Ocean City establishments including Stainton's, shops on the Boardwalk, Chris's Restaurant and Hogate's Restaurant.
Lucy was very active for twenty years in the campaign of Congressman Bill Hughes, running his volunteer telephone bank and working in the office. She and her husband Bob were privileged to attend President Clinton's Inauguration as guests of the Congressman and Mrs. Hughes.
She enjoyed all family activities with her DiLossi family, and with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed cruising in the Caribbean and trips to the casino.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband Robert, and is survived by her four children, Matthew (Barbara), Robert (Carol), Mary Ann (Bill) Brennan, and Ann Frances (Adam Brown) Coyle. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Friends may call Thursday evening (today) from five until seven o'clock at The Godfrey Funeral Home, 809 Central Avenue, Ocean City, NJ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday morning at 11 o'clock from St. Augustine's RC Church of St. Damien Parish, 13th Street at Wesley Avenue, Ocean City, NJ where friends may call from ten o'clock until the time of mass. Burial will follow in Seaside Cemetery, Palermo, NJ.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
