Katharine Crowley Giel, age 84, passed away at Cape Regional Medical Center on Monday, April 2, 2018.
Born in Camden, NJ, a long time resident of Pennsauken, NJ, moving to her beloved home in Ocean City. She earned her nursing degree at Camden Community College and worked for over 30 years as a geriatric nurse at Moorestown Lutheran Home and then The Lutheran Home in Oceanview, NJ. She loved sitting on the beach, reading, knitting and spending time with her family. She was an active member of St John's Lutheran Church in Ocean City.
Kathy is survived by her sons Lloyd Greenawalt, III and his wife Cheryl,Gary Greenawalt, Eric Greenawalt and daughter Linda Greenawalt. Her brother David Crowley and his wife Martha, her grandchildren Jennie Greenawalt and partner Roy, Lloyd Greenawalt IV, Andrew Greenawalt and his wife Amanda, Julianna (Greenawalt) and her husband Zach Hagen, Steven Greenawalt and his partner Jacquie, Lauren Greenawalt, Janet, Jessica and Eric Jr Greenawalt, and her great grandchildren Alex, Riley and Sean Greenawalt, Tucker Greenawalt and Mirabelle and Oteil Hagen.
Kathy was predeceased by her first husband Lloyd N Greenawalt, and her second husband John M Giel, her daughter Karen Greenawalt and her parents Joseph W Crowley, MD and mother Mildred Meehan Crowley.
Her Funeral Service will be offered Friday morning at 11 o’clock from The Godfrey Funeral Home, 809 Central Avenue, Ocean City, NJ where friends may call from ten o’clock until the time of service. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
