Obituary of Joseph Giordano

Joseph E. Giordano, DDS, 87, of Sea Isle City, NJ and Jensen Beach, FL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 with his family by his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Agata (Cirillo) Giordano, Brothers Vincent and Charles Giordano and Son-in-Law Leo Bauer.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a 1949 graduate of South Philadelphia High School and a 1956 graduate of The Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Giordano had his Dental Practice in Sea Isle City for many years before his retirement in 1984.

He was a member of the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol from 1947 to 1955.  He was the first member to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award.

He had served with the Air Force Reserves, was a 4th Degree Knight, a charter member of the Sea Isle City Sport Fishing Club and was a competitive swimmer in Jensen Beach, FL earning 16 gold medals.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years Madeline (nee Lovett), his eight children: Mary Anne (Frank) Primavera of Sea Isle, A. Christine (Tobias Schoenwandt) Giordano of Penn Valley, PA, Margaret (Howard) Loveless of Seaville, NJ, Charles (Lisa) Giordano of Jupiter, FL, Joseph E. Giordano of Ocean View, NJ, Madeline Bauer of Seaville, NJ, Rosemary (Karl) Trout of Tuckahoe, NJ, Andrew (Susan) Giordano of Seaville.  Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a brother Leonard Giordano, DDS, of Stuart, FL.

Friends may call Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 5 until 7 o’clock at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11 o’clock at St. Joseph’s R. C. Church, 44th Street at Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City, NJ. Friends may call from 9 o’clock until 11 am.

Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Goshen, NJ.
