Obituary of Alvin Donald Argoe

Alvin Donald Argoe, “Don”, 79, of Seaville, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Alvin A. and Mildred (nee VanGilder) Argoe he was a lifelong Seaville resident. Don was a graduate of Ocean City High School class of 1960. He married his high school sweetheart Eileen in 1963 and have been married for 57 years. Don was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired as a first sergeant after 22 years of service. He was active in his community having served 25 years as a member and volunteer for the Seaville Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the NJ Carpenter’s Union. He had worked in construction, boat building and custom installation and had worked for the Cape May County MUA as a Technician for 12 years before his retirement in 2007. Don was a family man and his family always came first. He loved to travel, woodworking and model cars and trucks. Surviving are his wife; Eileen (nee Guarracino) Argoe, four children: Colleen (Ken) Super, Christine Stremme, Lynn Argoe and Donald (Erica Fischer) Argoe and nine grandchildren: Wes Super, Jessica (Somers) Corson, Rachel, Erin and Andrew Stremme, Donald and Brandon Argoe, Amelia and Talon Fischer. A walk by viewing and visitation with the family – with Covid restrictions - will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 10:30 am until 12 o’clock noon at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ. A graveside service with military honors will be offered at 12:45pm in Seaville United Methodist Cemetery, Seaville, NJ. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home website on Mr. Argoe’s page. Memorial contributions are suggested to either Seaville Volunteer Fire Company, 36 Route 50 Seaville, NJ 08230 or Upper Township Rescue Squad, 2028 Tuckahoe Road, Petersburg, NJ 08270.
