Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John G Helvitson, Jr.

July, 8, 1956-February 26, 2023

John Helvitson of Villas, NJ passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday February 26, 2023. Born and raised in Camden County New Jersey, John spent nearly all of his life as a tradesman, owning his own business named Helvitson Remodeling and using his unique skill set to help family and friends with any construction needs they had.

John was an extremely hardworking and honest man, whose aesthetic work spoke for itself. If you knew John you’d know that he was always proud of the work he did and tried to instill that work ethic on those that he came across. He was also a great conversationalist who would keep you on the phone for many hours talking about any and everything under the sun. If John called you, you would need at least 2 hours to set aside for that conversation.

John is survived by his two sons, Michael and Johnny, granddaughters Ryleigh and Kandice, sister Gail, brother William, nephews Patrick, Christopher and Justin, nieces Amy, Anna and Helen. He was predeceased by his mother Patricia, sister Audrey and brother David.

Visitation services will be held on Saturday March 11, 2023 from 11am-1pm at Godfrey Funeral Home located at 644 South Shore Rd.
Palermo, NJ 08223. There will be no interment following the visitation.
